Members from the Mapaville Fire Protection District Hillsboro Fire Protection District & Goldman Fire Protection District took the opportunity of good weather this evening practicing ladder bail outs & wall breaching as well as other self rescue techniques. Mutual aid training is vital for all agencies involved as staying familiar with each other districts, equipment and building a strong relationship provides a better service for the citizens that we serve.

Mapaville, Hillsboro, and Goldman Fire Protection Districts came together to have our annual pump and ladder testing done. This helps save our residents money by doing them together.

Strong southerly winds, low humidity, and very dry vegetation will result in dangerous fire weather conditions today. These conditions may allow any fires to qu...ickly grow out of control, so a Red Flag Warning has been issued for the entire area. The strongest winds will be in central MO, northeast MO, and west-central IL, where a Wind Advisory remains in effect. Please do not burn today and secure loose, lightweight outdoor items.

Did you know your Mapaville firefighters participate in RED Friday? Your firefighters wear red uniform shirts every Friday to remember our military service members that are deployed overseas. We are thankful for their service and sacrifice for us!

On this day 19 years ago...246 people woke up in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people woke up in preparation for work. 343 firefighters woke up and began preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers woke up and began preparation for their morning patrol. 8 paramedics woke up in preparation for their morning shift. Not a single one of them saw past 10:00am on September 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same.
