Laura Ingalls Wilder is probably best known as the author of the book series "Little House on the Prairie." Her family was also well known in Masonic circles of... the day. In fact, the character of "Pa" in her books is based on her own father, Bro. Charles Ingalls (later portrayed by Michael Landon in the famous television series.) Freemasonry was a family activity for the Wilder's, with Laura serving her Eastern Star Chapter as Worthy Matron no less than three times!
