Receiving praise from our clients is wonderful, but compliments from our "adversaries" are especially meaningful--even if they are somewhat back-handed. After collecting the policy limits from two other insurance policies, we convinced our client's own insurance company today to pay their policy limits, as well. As we are winding down our disability practice to focus more on our personal injury and wrongful death claims, we can’t help but feel a bit sad that we’ll no longer be helping so many who are struggling to navigate the complex and confusing social security claims process. We have always been extremely selective of the claims we accepted, insisting that we represented only those that we believed were truly disabled. As a result, we have had the pleasure of seeing countless in...dividuals approved for the benefits that they and their family desperately needed and deserved. This week we received an incredibly thoughtful gift from one such client. A few months earlier, her son, a local attorney from another great firm, insisted that she call us for help (attorney referrals are always appreciated, but when it’s for their family members, their trust in our firm means that much more!). Fortunately, we were able to get this lovely lady approved for benefits at the time of her application without having to wait a year or more for a hearing. What a blessing! Of all the thank you gifts we’ve ever received, these might just be the most meaningful. The beautiful bowl and cutting board were hand carved for us by her husband from fallen trees on their son’s property. The banana bread was made from scratch in her kitchen. We cannot imagine the love, time and care that went into these gifts, but we are so humbled by them. We truly have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, but our wonderful clients top the list!

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Virginia Fry. She was indeed a "trailblazer" for women lawyers and an inspiration to us here at MacPherson Law. She will be missed.
