October 6, 2020 Greetings, Macedonia Family and Friends! Our perseverance through the challenges and struggles we have faced this year truly has been tested and has caused us to tap deeply into our faith. It’s been quite the journey! Indeed, the decision to close the church was by far one of the most difficult I ever have had to make; not just in my time as a pastor, but in my entire life!! And yet, it was easier than the decision of when to or not to re-open. Accord...ingly, it is with a heavy heart, but with utmost confidence that it is the best and the right thing to do, that I must inform you that the reopening tentatively scheduled for this Sunday, October 11th, has been postponed. As was stated in the previous letter, the single biggest contingency on whether or when we would reopen was the status of the number of COVID-19 cases. Unfortunately, there has been a dramatic spike in numbers nationwide, and specifically, in the greater Kansas City area, Missouri and Kansas, that simply makes it unsafe to come together at this time. I know this is a disappointment to some, but trust me, NO ONE is more disappointed than me. Believe me when I say, for months now, countless hours of prayer and hard work have gone into researching and evaluating a safe reopening process. The Reopening Committee has been very diligent in its efforts to bring us back together. None of us ever has traveled this road before and things haven’t gone as we planned or desired. But know this we are resolved to come back together as quickly, as completely, and most importantly, as SAFELY as possible. And we will! I assure you; the Reopening Committee is diligently looking into other alternatives that will allow us to come back together safely. I will keep you updated on our progress as things develop. But I am asking each and every one of you to pray for us as we trod this path of unknowns. Please make sure your information is accurate in Breeze! It truly has been our connection pipeline during these tumultuous months! In closing, I know somehow and I know some way we’ re gonna make it, no matter what the test whatever comes our way we’re gonna make it. With Jesus on our side, things will work out fine... What a blessing to know that no matter what goes on in the world around us, we still can have sweet communion with the Lord. We still can be of good cheer! We still can be encouraged! We still can be confident God is with us! We still can have peace!! Be steadfast my Brothers and Sisters! Fear not! Faint not! Speak these words into your spirit: JESUS IS MINE!! September 12, 2020 Greetings, Macedonia Family and Friends! Here is what is on my heart! ... I love the Lord. He heard my cry; and pitied every groan. Long as I live, and troubles rise, I hasten to His throne. Throughout the Bible there is reference after reference about our Heavenly Father hearing the calls, petitions, and prayers of His children. Be encouraged! God still is listening to and answering our prayers today and forever more! Remember, The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16c) Keep praying! September 8, 2020 Greetings, Macedonia Family and Friends! Yesterday, most Americans were given or took off work to celebrate Labor Day. The teacher in me wondered how many of us, while relaxing and/or hanging out with family and friends, actually knows the history of Labor Day? So I did a little research and discovered that Labor Day, as a nationally legislated holiday, was born out of the labor (aka union) movement as a national tribute to the contributions workers ...have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. (United States Department of Labor dol.gov) Upon reflection, I thought, how blessed are we that God never stops working and never takes holidays?! Accordingly, shouldn’t EVERYDAY be a celebration of God’s contributions to our strength, prosperity, and well-being? Of course, it should! So, let’s celebrate God’s goodness at all times, for He is great and worthy to be praised! One of the many ways we can acknowledge and thank God for His great works is by dedicating ourselves to fulfilling the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:16-20). The B.L.E.S.S. Rhythm is an excellent resource and tool to help us do just that! So, let’s get started!! I pray you are signed up for Community Groups. I pray that we are beginning everything we do in prayer. I pray that we are praying for one another and for people who do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. If not us, who?! If not now, when?! Over the next several weeks, we will be in Community Groups. While there will be no Bible Study, we will have a Wednesday morning 10:00 a.m. series on the B.L.E.S.S. Rhythm for our seniors and those people technologically challenged and/or unable to navigate Zoom. Everyone else PLEASE SIGN UP for and ATTEND a Community Group on various other days and times throughout the week. We have great facilitators and I truly am excited about what God has in store for us as He blesses us to bless others! I begin today’s encouragement with an expression of David’s firm assurance of God’s blessings on his life as a reminder of God’s perpetual love and goodness toward us. Sometimes in the midst of life’s struggles, challenges, and strife we can get lost in the forest and forget Who loves us, Who is with us, Who will never leave nor forsake us God, our Father, our Redeemer, our Fortress, our Refuge, our Solid Rock, our All-In-All! By definition, the word surely emphasizes the speaker’s firm belief that what they are saying is true and often their surprise that there is any doubt of this. Has not God shown us repeatedly that He can and will take care of us? That He loves us? That He will provide for and protect us? Can we not stand with a blessed assurance on His Promises to us? Absolutely, we can! And during times like these, how can we not? Join us tomorrow as we kick off the exciting series on the B.L.E.S.S. Rhythm. August 30, 2020 Good Afternoon, Macedonia Family and Friends!! Life is unpredictable. Things hardly ever go as planned. But ain’t cha glad God is never changing?! He is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever more!!... Today, Spectrum, our internet carrier, had a nationwide system failure. We had no internet; hence, we were not able to broadcast Sunday School or Worship Service. We could be downtrodden. BUT THANK GOD we have Breeze!! We were able to communicate with everyone and let you know what’s going on. I can’t stress the importance of having your accurate, up-to-date information on Breeze. It’s our bridge over troubled water during this Pandemic! We couldn’t broadcast live via Livestream or Facebook. But we were able to record the service and will make it available to you to view later as soon as possible! We are waiting on Spectrum to resolve their issues and when they do, I will send out a video informing you when our internet service has been restored and when today’s Worship Service has been uploaded and is available to be viewed. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Be mindful that our ability to do these things is a direct result of our giving. We are reaping the harvest of seeds previously sown. But we must keep sowing. We must keep giving. We must keep trusting God and being obedient to His Word. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Finally, we are kicking off Community Groups on the B.L.E.S.S. Rhythm on Wednesday, September 2nd! You do not want to miss out on this blessing!!! Tune in and invite others to do the same!
