Here is some excellent advice for anyone considering having a difficult conversation. A lot of the work I do with clients centers around preparing for such conversations, particularly with family members. The key takeaway is to remain calm and validate, validate, validate. Not only will that impact how they perceive you, but also how you feel toward them.
