Let us talk fall fishing here on Table Rock Lake. Baitfish are now your friend. Finding those balls and fishing near them will profit your catch. Water tempera...tures are down and the movement of bass towards shallow structure, creeks and coves are expected. Currently, long flats hold bass. You can find them from the bank to 15’ out. Additionally, humps and taper points on these flats as well as towards the back of the creeks can be productive. Looking for transition with mapping or electronics can help you find bass. Start working those deeper transitions into shallower structure will tell you where the bass are staging. I like starting in the deep backs of the creeks and work towards that 1/3 area. Not all fish will stage in the same location. Often you will find the larger females will be closer to deeper water. I like working baits that mimic shad as it seems to be my best tactic. You can use a spinnerbait, rattle trap, square bill, top water, and any other baits that work the upper most part of the water column. As I work myself away from the backs of the creeks, I often find myself with a tube in my hand pitching those transitions. As I said above, some of those females hold deeper but I often don’t fish anything deeper than 15’. If you find yourself fishing on these windy days, it is a MUST to throw a spinner bait. Finding those wind-blown banks with big waves or white caps. ***Fish the heck out of these areas during these winds.*** I hope that helps, Chris
