Congratulations to Graduate @ericapetersonhairdesign for graduating from the Lumine Salon Assistant Edu Program! Erica has been through a rigorous training program at Lumine, assisted for over a year after graduating hair school, and passed all 10 of her test outs to make it to this point. We are so very proud of her for her drive towards achieving excellence! Erica will begin taking clients in the Crossroads next week on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. A senior stylist, or even an associate stylist at a Lumine didn’t do this haircut. This was done by an assistant who has been taking classes through our assistant education program at Lumine for a year. We are building the best, and brightest in the city, and raising the bar not just for Lumine, but our industry. @mimisstyles we think you are about ready for the floor girl! We can’t wait to watch you soar!

We rely on boosting our haircutting skills to add texture, not just adding a curling iron to fake it. @mimisstyles did this in student stylist class day. Our assistant team takes weekly full day classes, for 12 - 18 months to earn a spot on the floor at team Lumine. This class is so filled with talent!! If they are this good now, can you imagine what kind of work they will be doing in 5 years??? Just building superstars up in here

When we reopened you followed our protocols to ensure the safety of our team members, you paid a higher rate for services to offset the increase of time on services due to cleaning and PPE, you wrote positive reviews, and shared our business on social media. You rebooked your next appointment with us, and told your friends to do the same. You all came through for us, and we write this thank you with tears in our eyes. For a small family owned business like ours, we would not have made it without you. * * To our team: Now the tears are really flowing. As of yesterday we are proud to say we have 17 team members made up of 12 stylists and 5 assistants (future Lumine stylists) who have gone through curly cutting training for highly textured hair! In addition we have 3 stylists and 5 assistants who have learned the best techniques to prep a highly textured client 4A,-4C for the best washing and conditioning strategies, two stand twist and pre-poo, and some basic finishing techniques! Here pictured is a curly cut by @lumi...nenancy, pre-wash twist out, steam treatment, and wash and go by multiple team members. Check out our stories from yesterday’s class to watch the process! Thank you to our beautiful model @brittanythebeloved_ and to our students from Lumine who attended these classes, and are pushing us forward in our commitment to break racial barriers and stigmas in the beauty industry, and work place.
