It’s that special time of the year, when everyone is out looking for the perfect gift. Even though shopping online can be convenient, be sure to check your local community businesses before clicking on the big box stores. It is your local community businesses that support your children’s sports teams, your local charities, and public services. Every dollar spent in a locally owned business stays in your community! The Louisiana Community Betterment Assoc. is sponsoring it's annual community Christmas Decorating Contest. The contest includes two categories: Residential and Businesses. First, Second and Third place cash prizes will be awarded for both categories. The contest begins Saturday, December 5, 2020 and will run through Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Judges will be driving around, within the city limits to view the residential and business decorations. Decorations must be v...isible from the street. Please be sure your decorations are lit in the evenings. If you would like to ensure that your decoration display is included in the judging, please email your address and contact information to Diana Huckstep, LCBA Chairperson at: [email protected] no later than Friday, December 11, 2020. Your information will then be passed onto the judges. Winners will be announced on Friday, December 18, 2020. Presentation of cash awards will then be coordinated with the winners. The Louisiana Community Christmas parade took place on Saturday, November 28, 2020. The parade was sponsored by the Louisiana Community Betterment Assoc. Lighting of the community Christmas Tree took place immediately following the end of the parade and there were pop up vendors stationed on 4th St. for anyone wishing to do a little early Christmas Shopping. Refreshments were also available from the After Prom committee. The weather was perfect and the crowd was great. ...People came from all over Pike Co. Missouri and Illinois to enjoy the parade. Even though we could not host visits with Santa this year, we wanted to start the Christmas season off with a fun filled evening and the best parade possible. Spectators were treated to an array of some lighted floats, groups of walkers and local police, fire and ambulance vehicles. Winners of the parade were: 1st. Place, Hair Trendz of Lousiana, 2nd. Place, Outlaw Lawn & Landscaping, LLC of Louisiana and 3rd. Place, Fat Boys Restaurant located at Twin Rivers Marina in Illinois. See more

Folks, we will be closing 4th St. between Georgia and S. Carolina at 4:00 pm. today. Our vendors will be setting up in that area for the parade tonight. Please spread the word. Thank you!!

It is going to be a beautiful day in Louisiana, Missouri for a Christmas parade! Hope to see everyone turn out! The parade starts at 6 PM this evening.
