Summer has just begun and we are already responding to numerous calls of TRESPASSING regarding people swimming, fishing, and driving in local creeks / streams. ...Other than the Missouri River and the Warrenton Swimming Pool there are NO locations throughout Warren County open to public swimming without permission from the landowner. ALL of our creeks, ponds, and lakes are private property. Even if the property is not posted NO TRESPASSING, you still cannot be there without permission. It is UNLAWFUL to operate a motor vehicle in any stream unless you own the property, or have the owner's permission. Don't be frustrated at me or the deputies for protecting the rights of our landowners, and enforcing the NO TRESPASS laws of Missouri. ASK PERMISSION FIRST, and if told no respect the rights of the property owner.
