Meanwhile Kia and Fay are doing amazing at stepping up and filling some needs in our program since Princeton is sick. The students have impressed me with how willingly they accepted the challenge of a new horse and I am already seeing wonderful things come out of it!!! So grateful for great horses and great students!!!!

Princeton is getting lots of love this week. He is still pretty weak but has also seemed to be a little more perky. Hopefully with time and lots of love and care, he will improve and be able to gain back his strength. Thankful for all my amazing students who have been so compassionate and understanding and I know Princeton feels their love.

My beloved students, Bronwyn and Emersyn came today to say goodbye. With Princeton being out for awhile we had to make some hard changes. These girls are extremely talented and I know they will excel beautifully at the next place they take lessons at. I will surely miss their sweet and caring hearts and fun, loving character!! I am grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of their lives. Each student changes me for the better and these two have most definitely blessed me more ways than they will ever know.

JoyceLynn giving love and comfort to sick Princeton. This week Joycelynn began lessons with our pony Fay and made a beautiful start at building a relationship with Fay.

A week ago our handsome Princeton started acting fatigued and unbalanced. After days of seeking answers from several vets, it seems he has EPM. Basically it’s a neurological disease from a parasite that gets into their spine. We got some drugs right away that have been successful and we are hoping for healing in the next few months. Time will tell. Some horses recover fully and others do not. We had to pull him from our program and I am very grateful for how supportive my students and their families have been in having to make some changes. Last week was pretty rough but this week things are looking like he might be slowly improving.

So.....all my students know that I love to laugh and can be a little crazy. Here is me after spending hours in the kitchen before Thanksgiving making all the food for our trip. I had started feeling irritated and decided to write a rap song to help me cope with all the many hours of prep. What does this have to do with horsemanship? Nothing really. ... I heard something this morning during a podcast. It was Buoyancy, Joy and Hope are the keys to endurance. It really stuck with me. It’s surely how I get through struggles in life. I just try to find ways to laugh and have fun and it helps to give me reason to keep going. So for whatever it’s worth, maybe this video will brighten your day and remind you that life is precious, and fun and worth fighting for .

Such a thick and peaceful fog covered our farm this morning that I couldn’t resist capturing a few pics . All the variations of nature always amaze me!!!

Happy first day of December from LOL! Haven!!!! Enjoyed a beautiful day here with a gorgeous sunset! Looking forward to great lessons this week including some fun hands on learning in the barn if the weather is too cold and wet.

Happy Thanksgiving from LOL! Haven!!! We are super de duper thankful for the chance to spread joy and horsemanship through our business!!!! Hoping this holiday season, even though it may be a bit different with Covid this year, is filled with laughter, good company and delicious food! We will see you all next week!!
