Sleep is the foundation of health and longevity. When we don't get enough sleep our health and mood suffer. So what is a major cause for not getting enough sleep? Stress. What is one of the top causes of stress? Financial worries, specifically not having enough money. In retirement, it is the concern that your nest egg will not last. Most of us have sacrificed and saved for our retirement. We put our children and their education first. Retirement is our time. Don't let stress ruin your retirement. Ask me to show you what an annuity could do for your peace of mind.

Windshield Replacement Every year, cars become more technically advanced. We have sensors and computers that make us safer and also make the accident repair process more complicated and expensive. This goes for our windshield as well. Starting in about 2018 some manufacturers put sensors in their windshields. These can be linked to the camera system as well as to your windshield wipers. This all makes a cracked windshield replacement more complicated. ... We used to be able to simply order your windshield and have it replaced at your job or home. Now, because of the technology, you will have to bring your car to the dealership to have the windshield sensors calibrated. As you can imagine this comes with some expense. If you own or buy a new car then ask your dealer if you have to replace your windshield does it need to come back to be calibrated. If it does then when you call your agent to add your new car, make sure your COMP coverage pays for the replacement and calibration.

Wind and hail have been the most frequent claim that I have seen in my 19 years as an agent. So it is no surprise that the roofs in St. Louis take the most damage. As a homeowner, there are some important points to know about roof claims. First, do you really have a claim? If you call most insurance companies and ask them to have an adjuster check your roof, then they will automatically classify your call as a claim. Even if you don't have a claim, this incidence goes into th...e national claims database. This could be bad because it could label you as someone who makes lots of claims and your current company might drop you or it will be more challenging when you shop for insurance. I know it is not fair but that is the playing field right now. The best thing to do is call your agent and ask if there is a roofing company that they recommend. Your agent can give you the name of one or two roofers that they have used. You know that these roofers have done good work since your agent would not recommend a roofer that gives them a headache. You can tell the roofer that you suspect hail damage and they can let you know if you have enough for a claim. This keeps your insurance record clean. This brings us to point number 2, use a local roofer. After a major storm, it is not unusual to have storm chasers come to town and tell everyone that they have damage. It is how they make their living and they don't care if you have a blemish on your record. They also don't care if you have a problem with your roof a few months later. They are usually gone by that time. The third and final point is to know your deductible. Everyone knows that deductibles are rising to try and keep home insurance premiums down. Many insurance companies have gone to a percentage deductible for wind and hail damage. This percentage is based on your dwelling coverage, just like your earthquake deductible. If your home is insured for $300,000 and your deductible is 1% that would mean you would pay the first $3,000. This deductible tends to rise each year as your dwelling coverage increases. You should ask your agent about this so you are not surprised.
