We're Ready - Welcome We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits, and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety. Infection control has always been a top priority of our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection contro...l processes are made so that when you receive care, it's both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), The Missouri Dental Association (MDA), the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies' recommendations. You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example: Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You'll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. Please wear a mask. If you don't have one, one will be provided. We have hand sanitizers that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You may note that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children's toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This might mean that you're offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We will allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, reduce the number of patients in the reception area, and give us more time to sanitize the treatment area. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any question you may have about the steps we take to keep you and every patient safe in out practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 314-569-2208. Our email is [email protected]. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back. Sincerely, Judel Lew, DDS Jenna F. Lew-Feit, DMD Staff

Memorial Day, 2020 This Memorial Day 2020 has a heightened meaning. It is a declaration of freedom, respectful honor and thankfulness. Our freedom was earned and fortified by the sacrifices of brave souls who fought and gave their lives, so that others, you and me, may live free.... This includes our healthcare warrior heroes who fought the battle caring for their COVID-19 patients and who lost their lives in doing so. We are reminded that freedom requires responsible action. We find ourselves weighing liberty with safety, privacy with public health, individualism with society. These are not mutually exclusive views. These are not binary choices. They require thoughtful titration, thoughtful respect, and thankfulness that we may all be free. We are thankful to ALL who have made it possible for us to be Americans. Judel Lew, DDS

Courtesy of Dr. Lew- A moment of reflection Desiderata - Words for Life Go placidly amid the noise and haste,... and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. - Max Ehrmann, 1927 Max Ehrmann (1872-1945) a lawyer from Terre Haute , Indiana , wrote this poem around 1920. It is a reminder that life is a struggle. It is an inspiration to strive for high ideals, to treat others kindly, to accept who they are and be gentle with ourselves.
