It’s a little noisy around here- weaning time for the fall calves.

It may be 0 degrees outside, but the sun is shining! The calves born the last few days have ventured out of their warm barns and into the sunshine. The temps are rising.

The time of year our camera rolls are full of cute brand new babies. Our legs are sore from hauling these babies through mud, snow and ice. Our hearts are full because the years of breeding decisions and work to continue to improve our cattle operation and our cattle industry are coming to fruition. Happy calving season!

We started off the new year by bucketing some concrete for the walls of a new calving shed. It took some great team work from Bleigh Ready Mix and Bleigh Construction to get pour done. Hopefully we can have the barn done before we get too many calves on the ground.

Busy, busy two weeks in the cattle department. Fall calves came home from summer pasture and got their vaccinations the last two days. Next up the cows get there’s and breeding prep begins. Don’t turn the sound on. These mamas are yelling at their babies.
