Thank you to Mercy Hospital Lebanon for their generous donation of a Yellowjacket mask for every single LR3 staff member and two hand sanitizing stations for Le...banon High School! "We are so grateful to Mercy Hospital Lebanon for their generous donation to Lebanon School District staff, and we know our staff will enjoy wearing their Yellowjacket masks, said Dr. David Schmitz, superintendent of Lebanon schools. Mercy has been a valued partner to Lebanon schools for many years, and this is yet another example of their continuous support. We cannot adequately express how much we appreciate Mercy staff for the important work they do for our community always, but especially during the COVID-19 pandemic." Happy holidays one and all! It has been an amazing semester and it is so fun to see all the smiling eyes as we wrap up the year with some tacky festive attire! Winter Party to finish the year tomorrow at 2:00! #WeAreBoswell

I love my job! We were provided this yummy treat for breakfast (thanks Wendy Lemons) and got a holiday mask. All the coffee for me today. Also here’s a picture ...of the bulletin board my kiddos and I made. Maybe Christmas he thought doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more! - The Grinch

Lebanon R-3 Schools to Offer Temporary Substitute Teaching Bonus At Tuesday night’s Lebanon R-3 Board of Education meeting, the Board voted 6-0 to approve a tem...porary substitute teacher pay adjustment to help alleviate substitute shortages. Staff absences due to COVID-19 and other reasons have been a significant challenge for Lebanon Schools this year as substitute teachers are not as available. Substitute fill rates are historically around 96%, however the current year’s rates are below 70%. This has left many positions unfilled each day and forced teachers to cover other classes during their necessary planning time. In an effort to help solve substitute shortages and better support students and teachers, the District will offer a temporary pay bonus for substitute teachers. They will be paid a $200 bonus for every five days completed substituting for the District. This bonus program will be in effect through March 31, 2021. We are grateful for our Board’s investment in helping to solve substitute shortages, said Lebanon Schools Superintendent Dr. David Schmitz. Substitute teachers play a valuable role in providing quality education to our students every day, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when we have more staff out than in a typical year. We look forward to the impact this pay bonus will have in our classrooms. If you’re interested in becoming a substitute teacher, please contact Penmac or visit penmac.com/teach to start the application process. To qualify, you can complete a 20 hour online certification class, or have 60 college credit hours. All costs to earn your certification will be reimbursed.
