Rev. James & Deaconess Christel Neuendorf, serving in Puerto Rico, share about one way that they are building in-person connections to people they have met online, Mañana de Manualidades (Craft Morning). Missionary Ruth Maita and I (Christel) hosted our second in-person craft event this last Saturday in Ponce. We will repeat this in Mayaguez this coming weekend. It has been a huge blessing to receive people into our church building that we have met online during the shutdowns. We continue our weekly art classes on Facebook Live. This month we are focusing on Bullet Journaling. Learn more: lcms.org/neuendorf
"The pastors’ wives were greatly encouraged after the Means of Grace conference that was held in November. In December, seven ladies gathered together in Rwamagana for the first women’s’ retreat since the Lutheran Mission in Africa-Synod of a Thousand Hills (LMA-STH) began." The mission in Ocoa was unexpected and demonstrates how God continues to provide for us and provide new ways to reach out to people in the DR with the gospel of Christ. All the credit goes to Him, Missionary Kate Phillips acknowledged, The amazing part about this day was not just the fact we were able to hold the first Service of the Word in Ocoa, the baptisms, and a great turnout in the community, but also that members from both congregations in Santo Domingo came together to serve in Ocoa. It was wonderful to see the youth teach the kids about Jesus, sharing the faith from one generation to the next. Learn more: https://international.lcms.org/eleven-baptisms-new-church-/
