Wishing our very own Lawson Fire & Rescue District Board Secretary, Faydonna Dravenstott-Heath, a fabulous 50th birthday!

Today we give great thanks and appreciation to honor our family in blue at the Lawson Police Department and all across the Nation for National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Every year on January 9th we take the time to acknowledge these public servants who right along with us make great sacrifices to ensure the safety of our communities! Job well done men and women in blue!

Temperatures have dropped to single digits, sounds like a great time to put your sweats and slippers on, climb into your lounge chair, and sip hot cocoa or tea!

Last night the LFRPD, in a small ceremony, awarded some of its most commendable first responders for exceptional work in the line of duty as well as the exemplary leadership skills from the chosen Firefighter of the Year. In addition, we welcomed the Lawson Police Department's Chief Bruce Suma who awarded a Meritorious Award to former Lawson Police Officer, now Ray County Deputy Andraya Kreiling for her commendable work on duty and off duty aiding the community of Lawson during her time here. Well done to each of you!

Children 10 & under can submit their fire safety coloring page for a chance to receive a safety gift, with a letter signed by some of our very own fire and rescue team! You might even receive a letter from Sparky! We can't wait to see your amazing artwork!
