With sadness in our hearts, the Lawrence County Farm Bureau board of directors shares this information regarding the passing of board member Carolyn Wilks. Carolyn not only worked in the Mount Vernon office for many years, but has served the county board as secretary-treasurer for numerous years. Carolyn had a deep commitment to Farm Bureau, both locally and statewide. A kind, gentle, special lady, we will miss her. Please keep all those who loved Carolyn in your thoughts and prayers.

We had the honor of recognizing Mo Beef Mo Kids pioneer and southwest Missouri champion Jim McCann at the Missouri Cattlemen's Convention this morning. He was p...resented with a custom Mo Beef Mo Kids Champion belt buckle and certificate of appreciation, accompanied by his sons, Jason and Travis. McCann was involved in the program’s infancy, bringing an idea to fruition through a partnership with Missouri Beef Industry Council and the Missouri Department of Agriculture. He has served as a volunteer in southwest Missouri since its formation and has helped organize beef donations to benefit thousands of Missouri students. Join us in thanking Jim McCann for his passion, dedication and efforts!
