Lavender Moon Holistic Aromatherapy

Lavender Moon wishes all of you a Blessed Spring Equinox! A time for fertility, rebirth, beginning again, and starting over. Just as Mother Earth is beginning to awaken from her winter sleep, we too should awaken and begin to blossom with new ideas, new goals and renewed hope. The passed year has been one of loss and sadness, hardships for all. This is the time to let go, and move forward! Can you do that? Yes you can! Open the windows (if its warm enough where you live), light Sage and smudge your house, office, vehicle of any negative/stagnant energies....just like the dust bunnies hiding in the corners, sweep it all out the back door!! Today is a day of Balance and Cleansing! Don't waste it....

This weekend is the Spring or Vernal Equinox marking the end of another winter season. With Spring comes the time for budding trees and flowers, green grass changing our lawns from a dirty brown to an Emerald City! ( well maybe not Emerald City but you get what I mean) Many flowers will begin to show up to decorate our yards with bright color and wonderful smells. All of these smells will make our air so fresh and sweet and full of pollen! Yikes!! There are many essential... oils I could talk about here but I will try to narrow it down a bit to one of the most common for this season. That would be Lavender Lavendula angustifolia. Lavender has properties of being an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and can also help with skin rashes and irritations. Did you know there are several species of Lavender and they each are unique in their own way. For instance there is Bulgarian Lavender, (this is the one most people use). there is also Spike Lavender, High Altitude Lavender, Lavender Stoechas, and many many more. So it is good to know which Lavender you need to use. A knowledgable well trained Aromatherapist will be able to help you with those decisions. I do carry several of the Lavender species in the shop. Did you know that Lavender is also helpful with minor burns, cuts and abrasions? And of course we all know that Lavender is helpful for relaxation, sleep, and restlessness. Lavender contains many organic chemical constituents that can help in many ways. The reason these species are different in their properties is due to how and where they were grown. Weather, envoirment, insects, soil and much more allcontribute to the growth and properties of the plants, and this is not just for Lavender but for all plants. I always tell my students if you can only have a couple essential oils in your house you should have Lavender and Tea Tree. Tea Tree I will talk about another time. Also with Lavender and Tea Tree they are 2 of the 3 essential oils considered to be 'safe' to use on the skin as is, in other words not blended with a base oil. There is so much to know about Lavender, and guess what, it smell wonderful. My favorite for aroma is the Lavender High Altitude. It has a much softer aroma. So Lavender is the Essential Oil you could use now and all year long for so many different reasons. I am going to try to post a Stone of the Month and perhaps an Oil of the Month beginning this month. I will start with the stone Aquamarine which is the stone for March. This stone as it suggests is related to the element of Water...and the ancient seas. Water element is associatedf with the West direction and is related to the feminine energy as is the Aquamarine stone. It is a nurturing stone, and can also help in times of sadness and lonliness. It will help to keep in t...ouch with our intuition. Think of water and its abilities....it is cleansing, it can be soothing and relaxing, very tranquil and also refreshing and nourishing. Water is powerful and carries a tremendous amount of energy....so imagine what this stone can do for us if carried daily or used for Meditation, Prayer or Ceremony. We are half way through the month of March but its not too late to get a piece of Aquamarine and carry it with you to assist you with your emotions...when having a stressful day or situation, hold the stone in your hand, take 3 deep breaths and focus on the energy of the stone and the calming waters to help relieve the anxiety or stress.... Keep a piece in your vehicle when driving or on your desk at work..... Well it looks like we are getting into that time of the year when we are beginning to deal with headaches, nasal congestion etc from the pollen in the air. And of course any of you who have allergy issues knows that when it rains, the pollen is subdued and we have a bit of relief but when the rain stops and everything begins to dry out WOW! I have been working on a few new items at the shop this week. One of them is a Night Magick Hand Butter. Thick and creamy but absorbs fast! It turns to a liquid almost as soon as it touches the skin. (I use it on my face also). It contains Kpangnan which is an excellent ingredient for the skin, plus other ingredients that your hands will love! I plan to make a facial product targeting lines and dry skin by using this same ingredient. It is $19.95 but will last quite a while since you only need to use a small amount... FYI: Lavender Moon will be closing today, Tuesday, 2-23-21 at 2:30.....Xrays and follow up on my old bones!! Sure hope the healing is better this time... Stop by before then and see whats new.... Yesterday I made a fresh batch of Whipped Lavender Body Butter....it looks like whipped cream...its creamy and smells luscious.....this batch absorbs faster and leaves your skin feeling really nice. Great for after shower/bath to add moisture to your skin and to help hold in that moisture. 4 oz container holds 3.4 oz of product and sells for $18.00....made 7 jars yesterday so don't hesitate! FYI it does contain Almond Oil just in case you are allergic to nuts....
