As a Missionary-In-Residence teaching Global Connections this semester at Evangel University, I am teaching/facilitating a total of 323 students. I have 135 students enrolled in Lecture courses, both seated and online. I have 188 students enrolled in Lab courses, all online. Although some students are enrolled in both, each enrollment must be processed individually. Thank the Lord for a good TA or I’d be in a heap of trouble. But, the opportunity to influence students for missional awareness is enormous.

Prayer - On Wednesday, Aug. 28, I, along with Marla McLane (Evangel University Global Connections Coordinator), will be leaving for Bangkok, Thailand to learn about opportunities for Evangel University students to spend a semester in Thailand, learning the culture while still gaining academic credit with Evangel. We will be in transit for about 28 hours, flying through Houston, TX and Tokyo, Japan from Springfield, MO. Would you partner with me in prayer for safety, stamina, insight, and opportunity to exhibit a Christian witness. On Sunday morning (Saturday evening U.S. time), we will have the opportunity to speak in one of the local Thai churches. Pray that we will be able to communicate effectively. September is shaping up to be a busy month. The first part of the month I will be in Thailand, traveling for Evangel University. A few days after returning from Thailand, Sharlotte and I will travel to Waxahachie to attend the 75th Anniversary of University Church where we attending and were on staff and pastored in the 1980s. Then a couple of weeks later we will fly to Alaska to help celebrate the 40th Anniversary of King’s Way Church in Eagle River where we attended and were the interim and then senior pastor for a short time. We are so thankful to be able to participate in all of these activities. Travel prayers will be appreciated.

This past Saturday, Sharlotte and I had the privilege of hosting a group of Evangel Students for a Cross-Cultural Experience associated with the Global Connections courses I oversee. The students visited the School to the Nations Facility east of Ozark, MO.
