If you suffer from celiac disease, read this! Technical Specialist Eva Helmerhorst recently received a 2019 Boston Patent Law Association Invented Here! award. Before joining Lathrop Gage, Eva was at Boston University, where her lab discovered and claimed application of gluten-degrading protease enzymes found in a certain type of harmless oral bacteria. The technology will offer therapeutic options to those diagnosed with celiac disease and unable to tolerate gluten. Eva is pictured with 2019 Invented Here! In October, a Lathrop Gage team assembled hygiene kits for Heart to Heart International. This week we learned the kits were delivered to residents impacted by the Kincaid wildfire in northern California. More than 180,000 residents were forced from their homes during the fire.
