We're finally back on the fields! Thanks to Evan and Whitney Carlile at Freedom Farm, we were able to skirt the Kansas City field restrictions and play some soccer! We started Fall Scrimmages this weekend and it was a blast! Gorgeous weather, amazing plays, and long-lost friends! (The ponies, treat stand and apple picking to entertain little siblings certainly didn't hurt either!) #vivalaliga #letthemplay #fallsoccer

LAST CALL for Fall Scrimmage Soccer! Soccer scrimmages begin this Saturday, September 19th and will be played each Saturday through October 24th. If you are still interested in playing you can still sign up today. There will be three sessions as follows:... Session 1 begins at 10:00. Players who are in 6th and 7th grade are considered Division 12 and will play in this session. Players are encouraged to bring their own size 4 soccer ball. There will be a 15-minute warm-up/skill building activity followed by a 40-minute 3 v 3 or 4 v 4 scrimmage. Session 2 begins at 11:00. Players who are in 4th and 5th grade are considered Division 10 and players who are in the 2nd and 3rd grade are considered Division 8. These players will play in session two. Players are encouraged to bring their own size 4 soccer ball. If you are in Division 8 and only have a size 3 soccer ball that will be acceptable. There will be a 15-minute warm-up/skill building activity followed by a 40-minute 5 v 5 scrimmage. Goalies will be utilized in these divisions. Session 3 begins at 12:00. Players who are in kindergarten and 1st grade are considered Division 6 and players who are in preschool are considered Chico Division. These players will play in session three. Players are encouraged to bring their own size 3 soccer ball. There will be a 15-minute warm-up/skill building activity followed by a 30-minute 4 v 4 and 3 v 3 scrimmage, respectively. La Liga KC scrimmage jerseys will be provided prior to the scrimmage and returned at the end of scrimmage. The location is a residential property located about 15 minutes north of Hodge Park. The address will be provided when you register. As a reminder, this is scrimmage soccer. It will have a little bit of a different feel than organized recreational soccer. The biggest difference is that kids are not assigned to one team for an entire season, but rather we will mix up the teams from week to week. It will actually be a lot better for them because we can make adjustments to team dynamics during the game and from week to week. If you haven't registered we hope you decide to join us!
