A few of STL bravest heros gathered here the past week to fish, eat, drink and laugh. 24 teams fished all 4 seasons and still weighed almost 400lbs over 2 days.

Part of loving these "fire guys" as our own family, means heartache when the realization hits that we all have an expiration date on our human condition. Jesus called our friend Mark home earlier today. He always reminded me of Thor (in stature) but he was a gentle giant. He fought a courageous battle with cancer these past few years. Please keep his wife Roxanne and his enormous circle of brothers (and sisters) in your prayers.... I'm sad for all of us who will miss his earthly presence, but I'm rejoicing knowing he gave his life to Christ. May you find comfort & peace in the promise of an eternal reunion.

1st group of the 2021 season took on rising lake levels, bluebird skies and north winds this weekend. Jefferson County Hawghunters battled difficult conditions but still found fish. 23.93 lb 1.5 day total took bragging rights and ... See you next year guys!

We've made an annual tradition of family pictures. Everyone grumbles, we pray for good weather and Jack's ears to be up in at least one group picture With so many families gathering here from year to year, did you know this talented photographer lives less than 15 minutes from the resort!? Hey Mike got to spend some time yesterday with a former brother in blue.... (Stolen from his page).... Well, my buddy Matt SB took me fishing today. First time fishing for me this year and I live on this lake!!!! But, I really like having a guide, fishing with a good friend, and a nice boat to ride in. 31 lbs on a crappie rod on an 1/8th ounce grub. Then we actually caught some crappie! I guess I was in charge of removing the "bully" from the brush pile.

Day #2 (Wednesday), local 73 St. Louis firefighters, proved equally difficult with high skies and afternoon wind gusting upwards of 30mph. No shortage of laughter and a 2 day total for 17 boats nearing #180. Until next year, stay safe guys!!

Lovely Wednesday afternoon boat ride after winterizing the pool. Bluffs, changing leaves, nice visit with Al & Diane(Pinders), high skies and legend fishermen (87 & 82!!)... Happy Thursday morning everyone.

Slower pace, cool morning, gorgeous start to Tuesday

Lake level around the 667 mark and going down slowly. After what seemed like weeks of wind, last evening's calm was welcome and needed to get the dock pushed out. Such a pretty evening, hey Mike conceded to an evening tritoon cruise....as only his luck would have it we ended up repairing one of the junctions for the electric instead. So, you'll have to settle for shoreline pictures, the leaves are starting to change with the cooler temps. It's fall y'all!
