Sailing kick off banquet at Missouri Yacht Club, May 5.

Dynamite sailing kickoff dinner at Missouri Yacht Club Saturday night, May 5, with 91 in attendance...mainly C Scow and MC Scow skippers, crews, families and friends. Go to the MYC facebook page for pictures of the fun. Ryan Wickstron and Jim Martin smoked copious quantities of pork and chicken for the attendees. Best part was watching all the kids. Really seemed to enjoy the evening. Also, everyone got what was probably a first look at the club's new $250,000 concrete sea wall. Definite upgrade from the previous steel wall. Kudos to Chuck Falkenberg for seeing this project through to completion.

Six C Scows crossed the starting line at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, beginning the five month racing season at Lake Lotawana. Five raced on Sunday. And so it all begins.
