Today's St. Louis Post Dispatch features a construction update on the St. Louis City SC’s Major League Soccer stadium. Approximately one million workforce hours - and 10 million pounds of steel - have been dedicated to this project so far. KWAME/ HR Green, Inc.'s work on this highly complex taxiway reconstruction project at St. Louis Lambert International Airport has been recognized by the American Concrete Paving Association as the top PCC pavement project constructed in the state of Missouri in 2020. Unique and challenging to this project was that portions of the pavement were in operation by aircraft from FedEx, UPS and Amazon throughout construction. At any given time, there was up to a 3.75 foot drop off as close as 15 feet from the aircraft wheels. Because a full safety area could not be provided, aircraft tugs were used to ensure safe passage for aircraft as they passed through the construction zone. Turner is certified as a Certified Technical Professional (CTP).
