This is a question we get asked a lot in the office. Here is a study that gives you an answer! The results of the study is that people who would typically have... frequent episodes of low back pain had less episodes of pain throughout the 12 month study when getting adjusted regularly, even when not "in pain." So it is beneficial to undergo a "Maintenance" routine rather than a "symptom guided" treatment plan. There is not one routine that works for everyone, but we see that people who are adjusted at least once a month or even every 6 weeks greatly reduce the number of episodes where they need to be seen more frequently to get out of pain, whether it be headaches, neck pain, or back pain! It's definitely something to consider and discuss with us!
