What An Event 09.04.2021

When we started planning we thought we were hosting a virtual spiritual warfare strategies summit... it turned out to be more like entering a virtual warfare si...mulator! But as in everything with God, when we stick with Him and don’t quit, WE WIN! This very last session is our regular second quarter Speak To The City format: Prophetic Worship, a Faith-building word from a guest speaker and then we pray for the city and Speak To The City together. The special guest speaker today will be our own worship leader, Cedric Shannon Rives . All I can tell you is, buckle up! You think yesterday was a ride... 9 am today (Saturday) live on Facebook @kimmgaines See more

What An Event 17.03.2021

I don’t have any school children living in my house, but even so, it was a treat to see the teachers from the neighborhood school drive through in a caravan (wi...th police escort) with all of their cars decorated with signs from the teachers and streamers in school colors all honking their horns and waving, their windows down, even wearing masks and gloves... I was cleaning house and taking out the trash, but I’ve had to sit down and collect myself for a minute. It’s been 23 years since I worked in public schools, but in that instant it all came back to me: the students who only got to eat when they came to school... the students, even through middle school, that I sometimes had to carve out a nap and quiet time/space for because home was loud and chaotic at all times... the students for whom I kept clean clothes that I picked up at Goodwill and toiletries and soap and towels and I discretely allowed them to go to the locker room and shower before school so that the other students wouldn’t know that they didn’t have running water... I remembered the class of extremely challenged kids for whom I gave every single one their own separate, unique birthday party one year as close as possible to their individual birthdays-in their own individual color schemes featuring their own favorite cake flavor because so many of them had never been celebrated before just for BEING... and then I remembered the parents who often were doing the very best that they knew how and whom I often had to teach and pray with and help to get jobs and places to stay etc, etc, etc... And I cried. I stopped to cry for those students of all ages and their families and the teachers and administrators and janitors and nurses and counselors and coaches who know well their situations and are unable right now to bring even a little relief... I cried for these students and their families and the faculty-whom have already lost beloved coworker and family members to COVID19... And I wasn’t crying because of hopelessness... because my faith sees the end of this pandemic even now... I wasn’t crying because of the enormity of their everyday situations even before this happened and the size of the task of establishing a new and better normal after it passes- because my faith has been praying and Speaking this new St. Louis for years...and my every idea and plan is dedicated to helping to birth it into the earth realm in prayer... I cried because while so many are doing the best they know how to handle this situation that has made the delicate, uncertain existence of so many in our City even more delicate and uncertain...many in the Body are still fighting over and focusing on whether or not their personal rights are being encroached upon and whether or not they will be able to hold on to the influence that they have over the few people that come to them week after week with the same issues and whether or not they will get enough money to pay for the buildings that the lost and hurting are staying away from in droves... I cried because I saw a news broadcast where pastors right here in this City who should have an answer for the Hope that lies within them even in the midst of calamity... were appealing to the general public for money because without the help of those they were called to help they are afraid that they will no longer be able to help themselves do what they believe helps those they are asking to help them help. I cried because I, myself, have been so distracted by personal issues, family business, concern for friends and family and my quest to get extra sleep, catch up on movies and television that I’m usually too busy to watch and cook new dishes, I haven’t kept the faces and cries of these people uppermost in my mind so that I could remember to make crying out to God on their behalf-and seeking Him for ways to help-my number one priority. I NEEDED to sit down and cry for a minute. I sat there and allowed myself to feel the weight of it all. While sitting there I repented. I asked God to forgive my selfishness...laziness and fear. I asked God to forgive my comrades in the ministry-even those who may not have been convicted to repent yet. I thanked God for this wake up call. Then I wiped my face, blew my nose... And rose up to war.

Words are power. These words are still on the books in the State of Missouri! There are people fighting to change this, but they keep being stalled. We will fast and pray in agreement on this day to have this language overturned once and for all!
