A big THANK YOU to McCownGordon Construction for sponsoring a first responder team for the June 12 pickleball tourney! First responders, if you haven't signed up to play yet, head to https://www.kc-crime.org/safe-pickleball-tourney and register at no cost! We'll even buy you lunch at Chicken N Pickle - Kansas City for participating. Proceeds from the tournament benefit SAFE, which supports the families of fallen first responders in the KC area.

Keep an eye on our social media accounts, as we continue to pit first responders against each other in the spirit of pickleball and fundraising. It's all in good fun, we promise. But seriously... who would win? Fire vs. Police? KS vs. MO? EMS vs. 'errbody... First responders, sign up to play for free! Tourney is June 12 in NKC. You get lunch AND bragging rights for playing well (unless you're the team from Olathe Police Department, then you just get lunch). https://www.kc-crime.org/safe-pickleball-tourney

10 years ago today. We will not forget. Robert Smith worked as a Medical Engineer at the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Department for about 20 years and was also a high-ranking, noncommissioned officer in the United States Air Force. Friends and coworkers said He was the type of person who would do anything for anybody. He was always very outgoing and would seek opportunities to help people both at work and outside of work.
