Kansas City is home to a rich diversity of Black immigrant and diaspora communities with ties to Africa and the Caribbean. Despite this, Black immigrants’ uniqu...e experiences are rarely centered in community conversations around migration, anti-Black racism, justice, and trauma. Nomachot Adiang will moderate a roundtable discussion featuring Naudy Solano, Samantha Mungai, Deqa Rabile, and Wasim Khan, sharing their stories living in KC. RSVP for this important conversation at bit.ly/OurStoriesKC!

The time to enroll is now! Come down to BOE and visit our friends in Admissions & Enrollment during the Enrollment Fair for the rest of the week. They've taken over the board room and can safely enroll students for the school year. You may be helped by recent Lincoln College Preparatory Academy graduate Grace Knight who is working with our department this summer as an AmeriCorps VISTA member! If anyone is prepared for a transition to online learning, it's our tech savvy highschool grads. Literacy KC VISTA Program

Love seeing creative ways of encouraging our community to wear a mask/ usa mascarilla! Have those of you in classrooms already or working in early childhood education found a fun way to teach students some of these safety precautions?
