Along with being the nicest guy ever, Antwon is a graduate of UMKC’s Conservatory of Music and a highly sought after percussionist all over the metro! Welcome Antwon! Congratulations to our resident superstar Lily Lagergren (pictured below) - this email from her mom says it all...way to go Lily, never give up on your wildest dreams!!! Hello Mark, I want to share some terrific news. Lily received first place in the Missouri PTA Reflections Arts Contest for her song You Matter. Student winners from the state PTA program will go on to the national level. National Reflections winners will be announced in May.... Separately, she received Honorable Mention this year in the Mizzou competition for her song The Last Goodbye! We again are so thankful for KC Music. Thank you for your continued dedication to her development as a singer/song writer and encouraging her to keep performing! Cheers, Heather Lagergren

'Rock U' - Kansas City's very first rock music school is finally returning to KC Music Academy for the first time since the stay at home order was mandated a year ago. This Sunday, 10/18/20, is the day!!! Yes indeed, it's finally time for the big 'Visual Sound Student Showcase' that was originally scheduled to occur in June. It's right here at KCMA (outside on the patio weather permitting - inside otherwise). Jennifer & David's students will take the stage @ 2:00pm, Kenneth, Zach & Sky's students @ 3:15pm and Kara, Freddy, Lindsey & Sarah's students at 4:15pm. This is our first 'socially distanced' showcase so please be prepared roll with the punches as it relates to seating, etc. We're at our limit performer wise so - if you did not sign up do not fret, we will be having another show close to Valentine's Day! By order of The Platte County Health Department, masks are required 100% of the time while taking lessons and while accessing any area of our building. Starting next week, we will no longer be providing complimentary masks to students or customers who ‘forgot’! Instead, a $10.00 charge will be added to the student’s monthly billing for each mask provided... Thanks in advance!!! At midnight, KC Music will turn six years old! Yep, on 10/4/14 we opened our doors and we are so glad that we did.
