Missing these great folks!!!
This photo appeared in the Omaha World Herald and the Wall Street Journal today of our Omaha Mounted Patrol serving their community during this challenging time. We are grateful for our officers and their mounts. www.omahamountedfoundation.org

Mr. Bear loving life in Nebraska
The mighty Diesel and mini mighty Cruiser (no, Cruiser is not a pony). We have been wanting to take this picture since Diesel walked in the barn.
It was extremely tough to say goodbye to these guys but we know they are going to be happy in Omaha. They will get to keep doing what they do best and will be in a top notch facility with care provided by a wonderful group of people. We will visit you guys soon!
To my Friends of the Kansas City Missouri Mounted Patrol, Effective January 10, 2020 the Mounted Patrol will be completely disbanded. Over the next few days we will be returning horses to their original owners with the exception of Diesel and Bear who have secured a job with the Omaha Mounted Police who will continue to serve as police horses. I have been a part of the Mounted Patrol Since June of 2007. During that time I have had the pleasure of working with many of you... throughout my tenure. I can honestly say that it has been more like a family atmosphere than a working one. The relationships we have built are everlasting and will forever exist. I have grown to love the views of Kansas City from the top of a horse and the relationships we have built within the communities we have served. Every officer within this unit will tell you the same that there is nothing like patrolling from horseback. We truly appreciate the fact that when we ride through neighborhoods people come out in droves to talk with us and meet the horses. Most of which know them by name. I have been so fortunate to have been able to be a part of something so wonderful for so long. Mounted Patrol has been the most challenging assignment in my career but has by far been the most rewarding, in large part because of each of you in our wonderful community. I apologize for not giving everyone a chance to say their farewells to the horses before they left, but due to time constraints and the simple fact that it was just too emotionally hard we were not able to do so. Thanks again for allowing us to serve you and be a part of your lives and we wish everyone well in their future endeavors. Sergeant Joey Roberts Mounted Patrol Section
We regret to inform you that the Kansas City Mounted Patrol will be disbanded effective January 10th. All of the horses have homes in which they will be going. All tac and equipment will be kept and maintained with the hope that one day we will once again have a mounted patrol. The facility is in the process of being turned over to a new caretaker. Several of the horses have already been taken to their new homes. The others will be returned soon. Equine Officers Bear and... Diesel have secured jobs with the Omaha, NE Police Department Mounted Patrol. We understand that many of you have established connections to the horses over the years, whether it be from following our facebook page or meeting them in person, but due to the emotional nature of the closure, the barn will not be open to the public for the remainder of our tenure. We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the last 13 years. Your kind words and smiles are what made us love our job. Some of us had zero equine experience when we came to the unit and now cannot imagine a life without horses. We hope one day the Kansas City Mounted Patrol will be reformed and we can once again connect with you with our 4 legged partners.
A beautiful picture of our facility submitted by Emily Eldridge!
We received a message from a follower who informed us her two children, Jude and Simon, decorated their bedroom Christmas tree in a hometown hero theme. They included some of the Mounted Patrol officers in the tree with the likes of Alex Gordon and some of their other heroes. Awesome job kiddos and thanks for thinking of us!
