Ramadan Kareem! I went to high school with a very large Muslim community, and all I really knew about Ramadan was that my friends couldn't eat until the sun went down. Now I know that it is a month-long period where Muslims focus on community, family, kindness, and self-reflection. Wishing for blessings to all celebrating.

Breakfast spots! Breakfast is my favorite meal, but I don't always feel like being the one to cook it. That's where these eateries come in: . Chez Elle Creperie: This Westside cutie does not disappoint. The menu is huge (we're talking 27 crepes, pastries, salads, soups, and a weekly special quiche) and everything on it is delish. My personal fave: Le Jardin savory crepe with a Kir Royale to drink. . Denver Biscuit Co: This place was made for nursing hangovers. The biscu...its are enormous and flaky, and they come with all different kinds of toppings. Pictured here: The Lola on Biscuit French Toast. . Snooze: I fell in love with Snooze while in Denver, and was DELIGHTED when they opened up shop here in KC. I got the Garden Harvest Omelette with an Orange Snoozius to drink and I was in heaven! . Summit: Ah, Summit Grill. One of the best brunches around. Pictured here is the Blackened Atlantic Salmon Salad (one of my favorite dishes in the whole city), but the Thick Cut Brioche French Toast is sinfully delicious and a perfect way to start your day.
