KCS receives Leadership Level score from CDP On December 7, KCS was notified that our CDP climate change disclosure, submitted earlier this year, earned a score of A- for 2021. This is an improvement from KCS’s 2020 score and moves us to the Leadership Level category of participating companies. CDP disclosures are submitted by corporations around the globe to measure their actions to cut emissions and mitigate climate change risks. Earlier this year KCS committed to a ...science-based carbon emissions reduction target which was approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). Our ongoing commitment to the environment is reflected in our SBTi-approved target, our CDP disclosure score, our annual sustainability report and our conservation activities including the Monarch Mariposa project. CDP is a not-for-profit organization that scores corporate and civic environmental impact disclosures. The world’s economy looks to CDP as the gold standard of environmental reporting with the richest and most comprehensive dataset on corporate and city action. KCS is proud to announce partnership benefitting El Rosario Butterfly Sanctuary - On December 1, 2021, KCS was joined by the Monterrey Metropolitan Rotary Club at the El Rosario Butterfly Sanctuary in Michoacán, Mexico to make a donation on behalf of the partnership between KCS, the Monterrey Metropolitan Rotary Club, Suburban Lawn and Garden and the Kansas City Downtown Rotary Club. Through this partnership, a donation of 11,000 Oyamel trees, integral to the wintering of ...Monarchs, were donated to the sanctuary as well as a donation of a $16,000 water treatment plant providing a source of clean water for the El Rosario residents. KCS helped finance the water treatment plant through an innovative Rotary simplified matching grant. The Monarch Mariposa project is ongoing so stay tuned for more updates in support of the Monarch butterflies. See more

Kansas City Southern Reports Third Quarter Results Third quarter revenues of $659.6 million, a decrease of 12% from third quarter 2019 primarily as a result of an overall decline in demand due to COVID-19 and lower commodity prices. Operating income of $271.5 million and an adjusted operating income of $272 million. Reported and adjusted operating ratios of 58.8%. ... Since 2010, KCSM has brought joy to children in need throughout the network with the Tren Navideño project. Like KCSR’s Holiday Express, this year, due to the pandemic, KCSM will not operate Tren Navideño. Although the Tren Navideño may not be running, throughout 2020, KCSM has remained committed to the health and welfare of the people of Mexico through donations of medical equipment and supplies to the governments of Michoacán, Tamaulipas and Nuevo León, the implementati...on of Ruta de Ayuda and Operación Cobija campaigns to provide food and blankets to people in need living near the rail line, and donations of computer equipment to schools in states where KCSM operates. In 2019, the Tren Navideño traveled through seven Mexican states and since its first journey in 2010, more than 70,000 people have visited the train in over 22 communities on the network.
