We are still ahead for grade stages. We want to start prizewinner at 2pm for grade stages. Please be ready.

Champs stages are on lunch. Grade stages are wrapping up and then going on lunch. We want to start checking in at 12:45pm for all stages, so we can start at 1pm. Please be at your stages by 12:45pm.

Lunch/Break! We are going to continue with competitions on all the grade stages. So beginner comps, get to your stages and get checked in. We want to get through all the beginner comps, until we take lunch so before starting novice and prizewinner second chance. Champs, you’re going on lunch after the OC comps. We can’t start champs second chance until 1pm, at the earliest.

Please make sure you are watching the live update. Schedules may run up to 30 minutes early. We are trying to stay ahead of schedule, since we have judges and musicians with flights out. Please make sure to check in on time. Thank you!

Lost in found will be in the Feisworx room tomorrow morning. At the end of tomorrow, everything left will go to the hotel.

Congratulations to our 2021 scholarship winners! For the first time we have a tie for the non-OM academic scholarship.

Mass on stage C. Starting shortly.

We are aiming to do silly sock on stage C at 5:30pm (depending on how the rest of the feises run), we will announce scholarship winners then too. Following silly sock will be mass - aiming for 6pm for mass. If you are doing silly sock and you aren’t still competing, please head to stage C. We want to fly through the rest of this feis day.

I’m so sorry. We are doing the best we can with the delay. We have another change. All of 509’s and 510’s from stage F are moving to stage D. All of the 514’s and 516’s that were going to be on D are now going to be on F. This will prevent the 09’s and 10’s from moving and we can go ahead and get started with the 14’s and 16’s.

All the 513’s and 515’s from stage D are moving to stage A. We hope to start around 3:30, but we are delaying the stage so people can move over. All champ stages are wrapping up, so this will cut the time down, Since we are an hour behind on stage D. All other comps will stay where they are for now.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all! We thought today would be as good of a day as any to announce that we are having our feis again this year! It will be a double weekend feis (Saturday and Sunday) with a second chance both days for Novice, Prizewinner and PC dancers (so up to 4 chances for some of y’all). We are excited that the Kansas City Irish Fest is also planning on returning too (see picture below)! Be sure to follow them so you can get their updates. Our room block ...this year is with the festival. The room block is open! Our room block is a little more expensive than last year, but you will receive two tickets to the festival with every room you book in the block. Our feis is at the Westin Crown Center. But the Sheraton is connected by a sky bridge. http://kcfeis.com/venue We hope to see you all Labor Day Weekend (September 4th and 5th)! We are in the process of planning now. That’s a wrap for Kansas City and Heart of America Feis 2020 - COVID-19 edition! Thank you to everyone who supported us on this crazy adventure (and it was crazy)!! Thank you to our board members and chair people. They had to jump through so many hoops to make this feis even work. Thank you to the O'Riada Manning Academy of Irish Dance dance family for all the volunteer hours. You have no idea how many hours they put in. Even when their shifts ended, they looked for ways to... help cut the wait time. Hats off to you all. Thank you to our wonderful judges and musicians! You know who you are! You all did so much to make the feis go smoothly. Even when we went overtime on Saturday. Amazing! Thank you to The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center for the most amazing hospitality. It takes an amazing team to make this event happen. And we had the best in you all. So many thanks! Lastly, thank you all for joining us! It was truly unbelievable the amount of kindness we received. I know we were hard on you all with the rules. But you took all the changes and went with it. Thank you! Wishing you all safe travels and well wishes in the remaining 2020 year!

We have been receiving questions about stage E and F stage change. We wanted to allow time for a shoe change without delaying the stage. It’s not an error.

Stages are on time. Champs have started second chance. Grades are starting second chance at 2pm. Keep up the great work everyone

Thank you to everyone who came and supported our feis yesterday. We couldn't have had such an amazing day without your support and help. However, I know you are not aware, but the hotel is able to bring back employees because of this event (covid hit some people harder than others). Today, take a moment and realize you are allowing a person to have a job. So keep in mind, every time something happens that you do not agree with or is inconvenient... the alternative means a person/family doesn't have a job. Suck it up and be grateful for your situation. Thanks to everyone who attended the KC feis today! We have some things we need to address before tomorrow. We were pretty disappointed in the amount of people camping in the halls. We had to clear them several times. We understand people were waiting for the competition blocks to open. But you cannot just stand in the halls. You need to keep walking. If your competition is about to start, please just take a walk and come back. We can’t have camping! Please, please, please s...top bringing all your stuff to the ballrooms/in the halls!!!!!!!!! This is a city, state, and hotel policy (and obviously a feis policy too). It’s also a violation of fire code. If you are checking out of your hotel, the hotel can hold your luggage with luggage tags. They even held extra space to be able to hold more stuff. You need your shoes with your costume on... that’s it! All pre-prep needs to be done before arriving in the dance halls. If you have time between competitions, we encourage you to go outside or back to your room. Also, we understand if you are in an open space without people around you, you feel like you are not spreading germs to people. But that’s not the case. Keep your mask on and keep it covering your nose and mouth. Dancers dancing in the halls must have their masks on. They are no exempt from the dancer rule when they are practicing, especially in an open space. We had a meeting with the hotel and head of security this evening. Security and police officers will be making rounds to keep halls moving and making sure masks are *properly* on your face. We WILL shut down the feis if you all can’t follow these rules. Please don’t push back. We have to do what we can to keep everyone safe. Let’s all do our part to make tomorrow awesome! Thanks again!
