Wow, I can’t believe it’s been two months since we closed our doors. As things start to relax, and businesses open again, I felt the need to give all of you lovely people an update on our plan for re-opening. For me, COVID had terrible timing. When things started to close, I was 28 weeks pregnant with my first child. Now as I’m nearing the end of pregnancy, it’s been difficult to have the right answers, and to know how to best protect my business, as well as my growing family.... But I don’t want to leave you guys hanging for too long- I just ask that you hang on a little bit longer! We are only a few short weeks from having a newborn and I still need to take precautions for his health and safety. That being said, I can’t tell you how much I miss all of my patients. Practicing this medicine gives me life, and it was a heartbreaking decision to close, even if I knew it would be temporary. Right now it’s looking like we will be able to make a return in July. I don’t have all the loose ends tied up just yet, but I’m doing my best to delve into research to make sure that when we do open, it’s a safe environment for everyone. This event has brought on anxiety, fear, depression, and hopelessness for many I know, and I want to be able to extend love and care so that we can get back to a state of health and stability. Hang in there just a little bit longer with me! I’ll be updating you soon on a bigger plan. And forgive me for taking a leave of absence, both in my practice and social media. I’ve been at a bit of a loss of direction and answers, but things are starting to become clear again. I love you all! #kansascity #kcmo #covid19 #hope #love #selfcare #selflove #takecareofyourself #takecareofeachother #acupuncture #kansascityacu #herbalmedicine www.kansascityacu.com

While we may not have any control over the covid-19 pandemic that is sweeping the world, the one thing we do have control over is how we act and react to others. Everyone deserves a little extra #Compassion right now. Anna offers both #telemedicine appts as well as in office and she is licensed to prescribe #ChineseMedicine that will be delivered to your door. ... If you would like to schedule an appointment please #MessageUs You can learn more about Anna here: "My passion is to help others feel healthy and vibrant in their daily lives. My mission is meet each patient exactly where they are and to provide a way to better health and understanding of themselves. As a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, I want to work together to help find your best path to healing. I received my Masters in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine from AOMA School of Integrative Medicine, in my hometown of Austin, TX. During my four years of coursework, I received over 3,000 hours of education, and pursued specialized training in cosmetic acupuncture, Japanese meridian therapy, cupping therapy, and specialized herbal and pulse diagnosis techniques for treating emotional and sleep disorders. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine is more than a practice to me as I found my passion for this medicine after a lifetime of anxiety and depression that started in my childhood. As I grew into adulthood I felt lost, as I was plagued by PMS, headaches, body pains, and unable to find relief. Over the years, I was passed along from doctor to doctor and only found minimal relief that came with multiple side effects. I turned to acupuncture as a last ditch effort and it forever changed my life. I soon realized that my previous path of hopelessness could end, and through the benefits of acupuncture and Chinese medicine, that a fulfilling life was completely possible. I look forward to helping you find fulfillment and your path to healing." https://www.kansascityacu.com/ #KansasCityAcu #KCacu #Acupuncture #Apothecary

There have been a lot of changes happening rapidly around us, and the state of things are feeling a bit uneasy amongst the #coronavirus outbreak. At @kansascityacu we are dedicated to staying in top of the most recent available information, including how #chinesemedicine is being currently used in the treatment of this virus. I have current information about herbal formulas being used within Hubei Hospital in China order to treat #covid_19. I am working on a plan to bring y...ou this medicine via telemedicine sessions which will give me the ability to assess symptoms and prescribe herbs that can be sent directly to your door. Stay tuned for more information coming soon! In the meantime, stay away from foods that promote dampness like dairy, alcohol, and sugars. Eat foods the support lung function like radishes, pears, garlic, and ginger. My favorite over the counter herb to support immune function is #astragalus, also known as Huang Qi in the world of Chinese Medicine. In accordance to the recommendations made by the CDC, we should stay away from crowds, wash our hands regularly, and stay home when and if we can. Not all of us are at risk for severe symptoms, but this reduces the risks that Coronavirus imposes to our elderly and immune compromised fellow humans. Most important, take a deep breath. There is a lot that is out of our control, but we can continue to love one another and display compassion and kindness that keeps our hopes high as we persevere. We’ve got this! #kansascity #pandemic #acupuncture #herbalmedicine #tcm #kcmo #kc #kclocallove http://www.kansascityacu.com

The best way to prevent illness is to proactively nourish and strengthen the lungs. When the lungs are healthy, immunity is strong, recovery from illness is quick and effective, skin is hydrated and the complexion is bright and fresh. Generally, outside pathogens most easily enter through the respiratory and digestive systems, and the lung and colon are responsible for maintaining the function of these systems so that they are not penetrated by outside pathogens. According ...to Chinese medicine, the body’s defensive energy is directly dependent on the strength of the lung and colon and here are a few ways to help support them: #1) Nutrition, which we will break down later this week. #2) Meditate daily.
