Hello everyone. I've had several inquiries regarding our May 4th Spring Luncheon. Kansas City Garden Club May 4, 2015 ‘Friends with Flowers... SPRING LUNCHEON & PLANT SALE The Congregational Church 7039 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 9:00 AM Plant Sale Your donated & priced plants should be available by this time. This is a major fundraiser for our Club and we can look forward to some wonderful selections. 10:30 AM Brief Business Meeting Donations for our ‘World Gardening’ charity are collected. 10:30 AM MORNING PROGRAM ‘How to Kill Your Plants’ by Lenora Larson Plants do not want to die! Despite our good intentions, we gardeners do cruel things that place our plants at risk. Lenora will enlighten you with the latest horticultural science of diagnoses and solutions for a variety of gardening challenges. Lenora is a very experienced Miami County gardener who cares for a spectacular garden in the Paola area. 12:00 Noon LUNCHEON Our Annual Spring Luncheon is an excellent time to introduce and recruit fellow gardeners to the fun and education we offer as a club. Details of the luncheon will be announced in the February Newsletter. The deadline for reservations is Monday, April 20. 1:00 PM AFTERNOON PROGRAM ‘Fabulously Fun Floral Designs’ by Brian Morley Brian, owner of Bergamot and Ivy, a shop located in the Crossroads Art District, specializes in fresh flower designs for special events including weddings. Brian is an innovative floral designer and a very knowledgeable gardener. Hello Everyone. Kansas City Garden Club postponed our meeting last Monday due to the snow and ice. We have rescheduled our next meeting: MONDAY, MARCH 10, 2014... 10 am, Loose Park Garden Center Program: Vertical Gardening KCGC will hear from Merle Sharpe, a 17 year Master Gardener, and retired landscape designer. She is currently a K-State University Extension Master Gardener of Johnson County. When she lived in Chicago, her home was featured in Better Homes & Gardens Small Space Gardens. We will have a business meeting and light refreshments after the presentor. We offer 10 months of activities. Annual dues: $25.00
