It's time for Friday fun day. Did you know that the first Friday of Lent is also tartar sauce day? In St. Louis, many of our local churches have fabulous fish fries every Friday during Lent, and what goes with some good fried fish other than tartar sauce? I often wonder about who creates these crazy food holidays and why on a certain day one would eat certain foods. At least this one makes sense. I love a good fish fry. I've gone all over St. Louis to find the best ones. While many are cancelled this year due to Covid, a few in the area are pivoting and doing a fish fry drive thru. Looks like I know what I'm having for dinner! If you're observing lent, have a great fish dinner tonight. If you don't observe, well having a little fish in the spirit of sacrifice doesn't hurt. Have a great Friday
It’s thankful Thursday. While most people are not thankful for the arctic blast that blanketed the Midwest this week, I am still like a kid with the first snowfall of the year. While my heart goes out to those in Texas spending days in the cold without power, I am thankful that Siegel Injury Law had the ability to quickly determine that working remotely was best for us. I am thankful that my employees were not faced with the option of risking driving on un-plowed streets o...r using a sick day. I am thankful I could give them that option and we could continue serving our clients, who had their own issues with the snow and bitter cold. While as adults we’ve tended to only look at the negative aspects of snow, remember what it was like when you were a kid, and you could take your sled out and just enjoy the sheer fun of playing in the snow. Besides, look how beautiful the world looks covered in white. See more
It’s time for Wednesday news day. I know a lot of people who are playing with and investing in cryptocurrency. Now it seems that cryptocurrency is heading mainstream. But can it survives SEC regulations? https://www.natlawreview.com//mainstream-acceptance-crypto
It’s time for Tuesday’s tips. While we are working virtually today, Siegel Injury Law is here to answer questions. Today’s tip comes from a question asked by one of my viewers, who wanted to know if they are out driving on the icy roads and slip or skid, are they still at fault for an accident. While much goes into determining liability, I give two short responses as to why you could be at fault. Determining fault is sometimes very fact intensive so keep that in mind. Everyone stay safe!
It’s Friday fun day. The Econ’s full week of January is national pizza week. There’s no doubt pizza is a staple of the America diet. What is your favorite kind of pizza? Share in the comments.
It’s time for Thankful Thursday. Siegel Injury Law is proud to announce that our law clerk Sarah Johnson has received the American Jurisprudence Award of Excellence for obtaining the highest grade in her Business Associations class at St. Louis University School of Law. I am thankful to have Sarah as part of our team. Please help me congratulate Sarah on this honor.
It's time for Friday fun day. Today is National Bubble Bath day. A nice hot bubble bath sounds really good after this first full work week of 2021. Who wants to grab their rubber duckie and have a nice soak?
Happy motivational Monday and Presidents’ Day. While President’s Day was originally introduced as a holiday to commemorate George Washington’s Birthday, ig soon became a day to honor the great leaders of our country. Today, as I was looking for quotes from past presidents to provide guidance and advice, I was reminded of the struggles we have been through as a great and powerful world leader. I wondered how this can apply to me, and my life, and the vision I have for the future. As Rafiki said in the Lion King about our past, we can either run from it, or learn from it. So today, as I think about these topics, I find this gem from Martin Van Buren. It’s true. Do things right the first time around.
Today is thankful Thurday. Did you know that from January 2-9 is Someday You Will Look Back at This and Laugh Week? Neither did I. While I've always felt I had a decent ability to make light of a heavy situation, and help process the pain, I can only hope this is true for the events of this week. I am thankful for those who can laugh when they want to cry.
It’s Wednesday news day. While the country is abuzz with what the First Amendment is and what it isn’t, SCOTUS sets out to tackle free speech in a school situation relating to a cheerleader who was not on school property. SCOTUS has often ruled that constitutional rights don’t apply to students while in school. But what about students speech about school while they are not at school. Interesting to see what they will do here. https://www.abajournal.com//supreme-court-agrees-to-hear-f
It’s time for Tuesday’s tips. Do you have an older friend, relative or loved one that is being taken advantage of? Hackers and scam artists target them and prey on their lack of knowledge of technology. What can you do to help?
It’s Friday fun day. We are ending this week, celebrating Love Makes the World go Round, but Laughter Keeps you from Getting Dizzy week. How appropriate for the week leading to to Valentine’s Day. While I’ve always thought love was important, having someone who makes you laugh will keep things happy. As I was scrolling through my camera, looking for a pic of us, I was reminded of all our fun times, happy times, adventures, journeys, and of course the laughter. Here’s a pic of us, hiking, something we love. He’s the the person who can always make me laugh. Happy Valentines Day!
It's Wednesday news day. This has been an ongoing issue for me, my clients, and much of the legal community. How do we get back to doing jury trials in the age of COVID-19. I look forward to a day when we are back in the courtrooms getting justice for our clients. https://www.abajournal.com//aba-study-examines-decline-in-
It's time for Motivational Monday. Who are some of the people we find most inspiring? Many people turn to football, basketball, hockey, or other sports coaches. Why is that? Coaches are entrusted to lead and guide their teams to excellence. A good coach can take the worst teams and turn them into winners, just through their words and actions. Vince Lombardi is touted as one of the best coaches in football, leading his team to multiple superbowl victories, and acheiving a winning ecord for the team. It's easy to see how with gems like this. Everyone is dealt a hand. Work hard and do the best with what you have.
It’s time for Tuesday’s tips. There are no magic pills out there. If you want something, if you’ve set a goal, or a New Years resolution, you gotta put in the work.
It's time for Motivational Monday. Head into the new year with a blank slate. Leave last year behind and leap ahead. See what life has in store for you.
May you learn from the past and place hope in the future. Here’s to great things in 2021. Happy new year.

Today, we honor all who have served and sacrificed.
It’s Friday fun day. By now, you probably know that I love to meditate to calm me and focus my energy. I just realized my meditation app has an entire section to dance away your stress. I can’t wait to find out what that’s about. Sounds interesting.
Today is Motivational Monday. Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. This week may be one of the more challenging weeks we will see. Tensions are high, anxiety is high. How you choose to deal with this is up to you. It may be painful, but whether or not you suffer is up to you. Be kind to each other, you never know who is fighting a battle you know nothing about.
Happy Friday fun days. Today is national candy corn day. I just about love all things sweet, but candy corn is a little too sweet for even me. Who has tried the candy corn payday with candy corn and salted peanuts? Kind of calms the too much sugar. What about candy corn with m&m’s? Who here is a fan of candy corn?
Today thankful Thursday. It also happens to by my step daughter Emilee Johnson's birthday. This is her first one deployed as a Captain in the US Marine Corps. Thank you to all the soldiers and servicemembers who spend birthdays away from their families to continue to provide the freedoms for the people of the United States. Where would we be without them, and especially to our Emilee. I am thankful for their dedication to our country and for the freedoms we have here. Please vote.
It’s time for Wednesday news day. Our court system and our judges in St. Louis county and city are very important to me and the work I do. If you reached out to me with questions about judges to vote for in the election and I haven’t gotten back to you (there were a lot of you) please reach out again. Sorry to my friends in St. Charles, your system there is a bit different than the city and county. Howeve, every year surveys are done by members of the bar as well as jurors who served in those divisions, well I suppose jurors up till March. Here are the reviews of the judges. Take a look. http://www.yourmissourijudges.org/reviews/
