Every beating heart deserves to be protected

Hello, my name is Rebekah McLaughlin. In 2019 I accepted the position as the Life Chain Coordinator for Joplin. As our group grows, I feel it's important to introduce myself so that you can know who I am and a little bout my story. This event is special to me for many reasons, to name a few: 1) I have been attending the life chain event since I can remember (toddler age), 2) it directly impacts my beliefs as a woman and as a Child of G-d ... 3) My mom chose life. To provide better detail about that; my mom was advised by her doctor to abort me; To have a medically necessary abortion. See, when I was conceived, I had a twin. My twin died causing complications. I was not only "dying", I was killing my mom, therefore she was encouraged to evacuate me. Regardless of the doctor's recommendations, she chose not to. I was born mostly healthy and we both were released from the hospital shortly after my birth. G-d was in control and I am glad my mother had chosen to follow her faith and not the doctor's advice. I tell my story to encourage everyone to pray and seek out those who can/will pray with you. I tell my story to encourage a mother who might be in a similar situation. I tell my story to encourage other children born from similar situations; you were planned by G-d, he chose you. Regardless of the pro choice movement, even though your mother had an option to abort you, your mom chose life! You are wanted!! Tho it's a several months away, I ask that as October 3rd arrives, that you all will pray with me: Pray that G-d will soften hard hearts; pray we can bring comfort to the hurting; pray we can be the support to someone who might be considering abortion. I, personally, pray that we can show and share the love of G-d to our community. And I hope the city of Joplin hears the message "G-d can forgive and heal. G-d is love. He has no limits. That he knew each of us before we were created in our mother's womb!"
