Good Morning, Snow is starting across the area early this mroning and will continue this morning affecting the morning commute. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect the entire area. Generally expecting a half inch to an inch along I-49, one two inches along Hwy 65, and two to three inches along Hwy 63. Details and maps available in the Situation Report, linked below:

Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain continued overnight and will continue into the morning today with storm total amounts of 1 to 2 inches of rain. Some pockets of rain up to 3 inches will be possible where stronger thunderstorms occur. A flash flood watch is in effect until NOON today for most areas along and south of the I-44 corridor. Low lying areas will be most likely to flood. Gusty winds of 30 to 35 mph will be possible over portions of the area today as a strong low pressure system lifts northeast across southeast Kansas into west central Missouri.

Showers and embedded thunderstorms will become widespread tonight over the area with moderate to heavy rain likely. Some small hail will also be possible with the stronger updrafts over southern Missouri. 1-2 inches of rain will be possible, which may lead to some flooding in low lying areas of southern Missouri. The rain will continue into Monday. Winds on Monday may gust up to 35 mph at times.

A couple of rounds of rainfall are expected through Monday. The first one will arrive Saturday night and linger into Sunday morning, with the second beginning late in the day Sunday and continuing through Monday. The second round will bring the most rainfall, coupled with some embedded thunderstorms over south central MO where an inch to 1.75 inches of rain will be possible. This may lead to some localized flooding on Monday.

Some fog will be possible over western Missouri and southeast Kansas through mid morning and may limit visibility to under a mile. Otherwise, the next system will bring some showers and maybe a few rumbles of thunder to the area. The rain will occur from Saturday night through Monday, with generally an inch or less of rain expected.

Good morning, It will be a little warmer today and tomorrow. A few sprinkles could be possible across far southern Missouri later this afternoon and evening. Gusty south to southwesterly winds will occur today. Better rain chances will occur late this weekend into early next week. Still questions on the exact trackof the system, which will impact rainfall amounts.

Some areas of fog and freezing fog are possible north of Highway 60 through mid morning, but the best chances are across central Missouri. Quiet and dry weather is expected through the rest of the work week. Breezy southwest winds are possible on Wednesday, gusting up to 20-30 mph mainly across western Missouri/SE Kansas. Rain chances return late this weekend into early next week.
