It is never funny when a loved one falls and may seriously injure themselves. But, it is hilarious when Chevy Chase and Gerald Ford take a tumble! Sorry, Mr. President... Call Johnson Physical Therapy @(417)888-0808 and ask about our Walking Without Worries Program to prevent falls in your family. Walk on.

Interesting that walking CORRECTLY can improve your mood. Is it safe to say that bad technique could have a negative impact on emotional health as well?

From the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: "Falls are a major threat to the health and independence of older adults, people aged 65 and older." By the Numbers:... 1/3 - % of older adults in the US that will fall each year. 1/10 - % of falls among older adults that will result in serious injury. 1 year - time it can take to recover in a long-term facility. *Falls are the leading cause of injury deaths among older adults. Johnson Physical Therapy is proud to announce the launch of the Walking Without Worries Program as an antidote to the risk for falls that comes with age. Please call (417)888-0808 for more information or send us a message. Walk on.

Ever feel tight before or during workouts? Myofascial release breaks up fascial adhesions and manipulates certain neuromuscular receptors to let the muscle release any tightness. Self myofascial release is a great way to improve flexibility and mobility of tight muscles and restricted joints. You should do self myofascial release before your workouts or runs. This will help your restricted areas improve in mobility and function allowing you to better perform. You can also do it after your workout, run or anytime you feel you have excessive tension in an area. Call Barbara at Johnson Physical Therapy for more information.
