Food for Families project. The Reese students continue to work on their garden. The space will start with a rain collection system and Rain garden bed then flow into food beds to supply produce in the Food for Families garden area.

A wonderful start to 2021 this evening. JCUW received the 2020 Community Partner of the Year award from Warrensburg Main Street Inc. A big part of our work with Main Street is the Leadership Development Program partnership with Reese Education Center and the leaders from the businesses that volunteer time to make an impact in the Youth of Johnson county. Kindness matters. JCUW was able to share your gifts with others to end the year strong. We were pleased to be able to give $1,500 to the the Leeton School District Angel Tree.

COVID-19 has made this an unique year for us all. This includes JCUW. Almost all of our directly funded Youth United programs are on hold so it has been a slow time. We remain committed to our youth leadership program but recognize that needs remain. To that end, JCUW board has partnerships with organizations in each community and awarded funds to them to allow them to serve their families. ... We are doing our best to honor the kindness of our donors, while maintaining our youth focus. Please contact me if you would like to learn more about the work we do and how you can partner with us.

COVID-19 has impacted families and youth in Johnson County and the needs are significant this year. Johnson County United Way is partnering with a small number of organizations across Johnson County and will be distributing $10,000 to assist those organizations provide food and clothing to the families served. We hope that you will be inspired to give as well. Donate to JCUW or directly in your community. Adopt a neighborhood family that has lost income. There are many w...ays to share kindness. JCUW remains committed to our Youth United mission and felt that supporting families fit the current needs.

Awesome afternoon. We were able to get the Reese Education Center survival box set up at the shelter on Ming. The students at Reese wanted to accomplish a community impact project so they did! Shout out to ShipShape Party Rentals, LLC for housing the box until Refuge could open.... Thanks again to Integrity Roofing, Siding, Gutters & Windows and Carter Painting for sharing their trades with the students.

There are some very giving folks in our community. JCUW received a donation to buy food for the food pantry so first thing this morning we made a trip to the store to stock up.
