So as I know a bunch of customers are counting on me getting them heaters set up tomorrow, I see on the truck manifest that we'll have everything but regulators....I panicked for a second. Then started calling and searching...none any where close. DANG IT... But I found some!! After looking forward to going home and relaxing, I spent the evening driving 2 hours North to buy all a place had. Now.... as long as the manifest is correct with everything else and the truck doesn't... get held up by the storm tonight, I'll have them fixed up along with heaters, and heat lamp bulbs, and more propane tanks, the list goes on. HERO DAY AGAIN!!! Man I love our small town. Big towns don't get this. Dustin Bennett and Chad Bryan were knights in shinning armor this morning. Let me tell you why, as I get a little choked up. As you know I'm on the mend, but can't get down, or lift anything. In a nut shell, nothing but walk basically. ... We woke up this morning to no water. I had to sit by as my amazing wife went out in this cold and found for some crazy reason the breaker at the pole flipped and the heater in the well house kinda needs electricity. Shes pretty handy so I asked on Facebook if anyone had a torpedo heater. Dustin and Chad in a matter of minutes was at my house in the bitter cold, crawling around under my house making sure no busted pipes, they brought heaters, propane bottles etc. A couple hours later we had water. Its extremely hard mentally to be able to do something, can't, and watch a couple guys and my amazing wife do it instead. I seriously can't thank these guys enough. See more

Wanna see a hero??? My dad. He retired the first of the year and planned on relaxation.....he came to rescue when I went down... . People count on us for propane in small bottles for heat. ... A lot of people. To the tune of 1478 gallons into 192 bottles this week alone!!!! Thats ALOT of trips to the fill station in FRIGID weather. We did set him up a warm up station. Hey prayer warriors I am needing some really big prayers, good vibes, whatever it is that you believe in to go out for Joe. I had him taken to the hospital this morning by ambulance. We don't have many answers right now. We are waiting for MRI, CAT scans and a bunch of other tests to come back. They have admitted him so he will be down for a while longer. Thanks for supporting us being closed last Saturday. After the parade I got to go do something else I love to do, and this time have my grand daughters on my knee. I know I've only got a few years before they recognize its "pop pop".... .

In these times, products are not just "push a button" or call and they arrive. It used to be that suppliers had things, and they was delivered to the dock. Today it takes a lot of time and sometimes your entire "day off" to make a three hour trip to get a truck full of stuff (breakers, paint brushes, wire, bolts, expanding foam etc) including these. That's what I did yesterday. Can't sell stuff off an empty wagon. .

The "Market" is where we go to get gifts for others because we don't "decorate" in a theme. We don't decorate at all. We have hardly anything hanging on our walls, no nicknacks, trinkets, fancy towels that match, potholders that match the dish towels etc. Today I needed a special gift for Trinity and since they are truly local I always check first and sure enough they had the perfect gift. THANKS to our local DAV we're flying a P.OW. Flag along with Old Glory out front. They will fly daily during daylight, weather permitting and we added another holder for our Bison flag for game days.

We will be closed tomorrow Saturday the 12th to participate in the Buffalo Christmas Parade. Knowing that ALOT of people come on Saturday to get propane because they work during the week, I'll be here from 2-3pm for propane fills. .

What a Saturday!! . We held a fundraiser for The First Step - Victim Services of Dallas County . The BIGGEST thanks of the day to Becky Phillips who brought her talents, experience, her personal stash of paints, prepped/primed and drew out the boards, all to share with others for a great cause. Thanks also to--- ... Dairy Queen(Steve & Shelly) for lunch! Meeks Lumber for the plywood. Dallas County Extension for extra chairs. My dad for tables and chairs. Trinity and Addi for all the hard work helping plus manning the blow dryer stations, the snacks etc. Joe's Hardware was privileged to donated all the other supplies for the day. From what I could see everyone had a great time, I never imagined my stock room would be full of laughing ladies painting shapes on plywood on a Saturday afternoon but it was and it was really a great time. . We're excited to announce we will be your "go to" barn quilt supply house! . We will have cut/sanded/primed boards in different sizes, small containers of paint and sealer, rulers, squares etc, along with the regular painting supplies we already keep . See more

Every dollar of participants donations goes to them. We only have so much room at the Hardware Store so we can only take 25 participants. I've been waiting a long time to make this post. . This beautiful lady I have the privilege of calling my wife will start tomorrow as Joe's Hardwares first paid employee!!! . I have flutters and goosebumps just typing this. ... In case you don't know our "back story"......we worked together remodeling houses, building decks, handyman work etc for years when little over 2 years ago I tore my bicep. She went to work as a drug and alcohol counsler in Springfield then we opened a hardware store. She's been the bread winner taking care of everything........the money making, laundry, dinners, housework and helping at the hardware store. I haven't taken a paycheck and spent countless hours, days, late nights, weekends at the store away from my best friend. Our goal was "let's pray God sees fit in 3-4 years she can quit and we can work together again". He once again out done himself, a year and 10 months after we opened-----Joe's Hardware has an employee. We are SUPER EXCITED all our faithful customers can finally meet and be helped by Trinity!!! . BEYOND EXCITED!!! A year and 9 months in waiting. When we opened, money for a sign wasn't possible. So we "edited" the sign to say Joe's the cheapest way we could. We've added literally over $200k in inventory as the sign stayed "on hold"... A good friend of mine who's also a sign painter had had enough of seeing the old sign too, so we struck a deal. HE KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!!!! What a great sign that fits us PERFECT. Thanks to everyone putting up with our "less than professional" sign all this time!!! See more
