Took Turbo and Spice out Friday night.cut Spice first she went about 400 yrds and got treed on a big bushy pin oak I couldn't find a coon. Recut her and she went about 500 yrds got treed on a little oak that was slick. Loaded her and cut turbo he went 150 yrds and slicked recut him and he went about 200 yrds and opened he got out into the open field and kept making circles he was down wind of the draw we were hunting. He circled out there probably 10 minutes and worked back i...nto the draw and got treed just on the edge. Couldn't find a coon so I started looking around and about 15 yrds behind him in a big den was 4 coons sitting up high. I recut him right off the tree and he started trying to work it again and he ended up treed on a tree right next to the one with the coons. He got sooo close but just couldn't pin point em. Recut him and he got out of there and got treed on a big den. Dalton was hunting Mag so I called him to see how it was goin. He cut him the first time and he got in 600 yrds treed with a coon he recut him and he went 400 treed with a coon so I went and met up with him and we cut mag and spice together. They didn't get anything good done spice got treed on a down tree and Mag didn't have anything goin and couldn't take it and gave in to the pressure! He really didn't want to but she finally talked him into it. See more

I thought the coons would really be moving before the snow we're supposed to get early in the morning but if they were we couldn't find em. Took the twins with me and they were asleep before we even got there and slept in the ranger the 2 hrs we were out there lol. We brought spice and mag. Turned spice out first she hit a track about 150 yrds away from us and took it out to about 500 then brought it back to about 400 and got treed on a downed log goin into a big water hole i...n the ditch so I out her up and cut mag he covered a lot of ground and opened once by a brush pile but then worked on past it and never opened again. He just doesn't do well with bad tracks but I will say this for him he's 16 months old and if he doesn't smell the track goin to the tree he's not one to just grab a tree because he can't figure anything out. He does miss sometimes and I'm not sure why because when he gets treed he's certain something's there. Mag was wearing turbos collar. See more

Took spice and turbo out again tonight even though it was not a very good night I mostly wanted to get em out to run trying to get em in shape. Cut spice first and she opened on a track and made several circles but couldn't make anything of it and finally left but started heading towards the highway so I called her back and cut turbo he made about a 200 yrd half circle and got treed on a den. When I got there I noticed blood in the snow and knew I'd went too far to fast with him and this crusted snow cut his feet. I loaded him up and went home. Checked his feet over and all 4 are cut where the pads meet the skin so I'll be laying him up for a while and trying to figure out what to do to get em healed up. I shoulda known better with him not being hunted for a while and never being in the snow.
