Additionally, approximately 1.5 million veterans live in poverty, according to statistics from the National Veterans Foundation. Congratulations to JFS Volunteer Coordinator Jeremy Goldberg for creating and maintaining standards of excellence in our Volunteer Program! JFS recently received confirmation that our agency has been re-certified through the United Way Volunteer Center. This certification is awarded to nonprofit organizations with well-managed volunteer programs, and is based on a set of nationally recognized standards and quality volunteer management practices. What’s more, the selection committee honored JFS’s Volunteer Program for demonstrating local best practices in several areas. Thank you for everything you do, Jeremy!
