This morning the racing community lost a legend. Renowned both here in the USA and abroad, Sonny Leonard has left a legacy of horsepower around the world. Sonny will be remembered for not only being a master engine builder with a wall of success but also as a hard working friend who seemed like family in a sport filled with camaraderie. Our thoughts are with his family, employees, customers and fans during this time. Long may his legacy last, no one will forget the impact of Sonny Leonard or Sonny's Racing Engines at the track. Godspeed Sonny.
The 2019 NHRA Pro Stock season may now be over but it finished strong in Pomona just as it began back in February; with both a JHRC built winner and runner up car! Not only was Jeg Coughlin, Jr the #1 qualifier at the Auto Club World Finals but he also won the race over Fernando Cuadra in the final round. Many congrats go out to all of our customers on an impressive season. Stay tuned over the next few weeks as we recap all of our winners across all sanctioning bodies, the runner ups, #1 qualifiers, best appearing cars and much more! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH6rKiaAkgA
And...if you’re into modern muscle machines, Jim Thorp recently took delivery of his 2019 Top Sportsman Pro Charger car. Another awesome creation from JHRC!
If you’re feeling some Monday morning blues, we have a cure for you: Recently completed and headed to a track near you! This is Glenn Teets old school American muscle car, a 1968 Firebird Top Sportsman hot rod. We love building these unique race cars in our shop!
The Mountain Motor Pro Stock final round in Epping, NH.
This past weekend at the seventh annual NHRA New England Nationals in Epping, New Hampshire; the holiday celebrations continued right into Sunday afternoon for John DeFlorian and his 2015 Chevrolet Camaro. JHRC's own shop foreman started the weekend off on the right path with the #1 qualifying position of a 6.362et at 223.17mph. On Sunday, Johnny Pluchino and DeFlorian would match up in the final round in their two brilliant orange hot rods. DeFlorian drove straight down the ...track to victory with an event low et of 6.297 at 224.28mph after Pluchino lit the red bulb at the starting line. Pluchino ran a 6.331et at 222.03mph. Congratulations to John, Liann and the entire AMS Oil team on a great weekend as well as to the StrutMasters.com team of Pluchino. The four race 2019 NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock season is now in the books but we're looking forward to seeing what the future holds for them. Thanks to all our customers, fans and friends for supporting the big hood scoops and even bigger engines! All photos copyright of Auto Imagery. See more
