Please be aware We have a road closure in our district until further notice. Thank you to those that are helping with this situation!
Yesterday, Jenkins Fire responded to a 2 car motor vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment on Highway 39. Central Crossings Fire Protection District was requested for extrication of one patient from a car. Aurora Rural Fire aided with diverting traffic. The highway was shut down for several hours while units worked. A landing zone for a helicopter was also set up along the highway to fly a patient. Thank you to Central Crossings Fire, Aurora Rural Fire, Mercy EMS, Mercy Lifeline, Barry County 911 Dispatch, and Barry County Sheriff’s Dept. This call went as smooth as we could have hoped for because of the help of our neighboring districts.
**REMINDER** Attention Auxiliary Members We will be having a meeting on Thursday, July 23 at 6:30 pm at Station 1 to discuss the upcoming fish fry. If you have any questions, please contact us on this page, or get ahold of Sandy Rainwater!

As you all may know, Jim Fohn passed away this week. His support to our fire department over the years has been much appreciated. We will never forget the professional courtesy he and his staff have shown us all, whether it be on fire, medical, or accident scenes, or when dealing with the loss of our own family. He had such a kind nature, and loved serving the community. Jim, you will be missed!
Jenkins Fire would like to thank Rudy and the guys from Chris Vaught Construction for the assistance in opening up 39 Highway this morning. Removing the large tree went much smoother with the aid of a backhoe.
As we continue to monitor the situation surrounding the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we ask that you help us help you and your loved ones.
