FAA has come out with their rules for unmanned aircraft. The section most pertinent to us is section 3. This section will allow CBO’s to apply for areas where no remote identified will be required. An FRIA ( FAA recognized identified area) where we can fly line of site same as we do now. These sites ( all AMA sanctioned fields) will be applied for in 18 months. As I understand it AMA will handle this for us. It appears to me that AMA has gotten us what we wanted in the new rulings. I am sure that you will here lots of decent to the rules and much discussion on what will happen in certain cases but the way I read it we will be able to fly at our sanctioned field the same as we do now and that is what we wanted. Thank You AMA !

LORCS members ; we will have our usual first of the year club fly on January 1,2021. As usual we will bring treats to eat. What ever you choose to bring. This will be held no matter the weather. So come out and enjoy the fun camaraderie and flying. We will start at about noon. We will have a warm fire going in the pavilion so we can stay warm between flights.
