USAS must raise their own funding separately, and the athletes must contribute a large portion on an ongoing basis. USA athletes and their families make huge sacrifices to pursue the dream, while their international competitors do not have to worry where the next case of shells comes from, or where to find another part time job to cover travel costs for the next competition. Our sport (target shooting) is so politically incorrect that the highest awarded Olympian Kim Rhode who has won Olympic medals in EVERY GAMES since 1996 received virtually no attention in the Rio games. Kim is a great ambassador for our sport; a mom, world class athlete, 6 time Olympic medal winner, and one of the most humble kind people you'll ever meet. Yet no support from "Corporate America".
