Many of you know that I coach my youngest boy's baseball team. I've found that real estate is very similar in many ways. If you have a good group of players, that work well together and back each other up, you will have an awesome team. I have this in working with Chartwell Realty. Surprising, I know, but i don't have all the answers...but my team at Chartwell backs me up and helps where it may be needed. Granted, once in a while we have all the players...but lose the ball, but we'll find another ball that's even better for our clients!!

Something that people don't realize? You need house numbers that you can read clearly...from the STREET. Not only so friends coming over can find your house, but emergency services can find your house...or use your address to help find someone else's house that has no numbers visible!

Sometimes as you show houses you come across strange 'fixes', like this bump-out in a bedroom that baffled me for a minute...what is it?

So with COVID-19 taking the center stage in every discussion, I've been asked repeatedly whether real estate is effectively closed. It has taken a sort of extended winter break, as the end of March and April is when the craziness of the real estate cycle really comes back out. But, people are still buying, and people are still selling. Why? Many reasons such as moving for a job, downsizing, upsizing, or new homeowners-to-be trying to spread their wings. Others, especiall...y sellers, are holding off to see what the next month or two will bring. As a buying agent, we need to be extra cautious when showing an occupied home in-person...many on both sides preferring a virtual tour to start...but at the least wearing some protective gear and avoiding the touching of things in the house. If someone doesn't feel well, STAY HOME! As a selling agent, we need to protect our clients the same way and ensure that people coming to see a home aren't spreading germs. We need to approach a buyer's agent who may be bringing clients for a tour to ensure that proper precautions are taken to keep everyone safe and healthy. A little common sense goes a long way, seriously. See more
