ARE YOU ASKING FOR MORE SH*TY SHIZ TO HAPPEN TO YOU?This was the subject header for one of my emails from my business coach @heyelizabethfaye . Let me tell you after the month I had this was totally speaking to me. To put it frankly last month sucked! One of those times where if something COULD go wrong, it did! Take that but alllllll month long. I felt like the universe was testing me and I was totally failing - BIG TIME!! I feel extremely guilty complain...ing about how bad it was when I know alot of people dealing with alot worse. I still had my family , my health , a warm place to be, and so much more. But when you have so much on your plate and all of the sudden you feel like you are no longer in control things get a little stressful. I tried to remain optimistic, believing that everything happens for a reason BUT that doesn’t make it suck any less!Negative momentum is a super real thing and it is a slippery slope babes!! I only want to show up here when it feels real and authentic! The stress of last month left me feeling so uninspired and not my normal self that I barely showed up. But I feel different this month and am ready to be back!! Currently I am sitting in Utah about to attend a life-changing retreat! The universe knows what its doing and the timing of things are impeccable. I know I am going to leave feeling alot lighter than I did coming in. I usually always keep it about hair but I felt compelled to share with you. This is real life shit babes. Things aren’t perfect, they don’t always go as planned! This month marks my 33rd trip around the sun! I used to think that in my 30’s I’d have it allllll figured out. Like some magical point in life where all the sudden I get my stuff together and life gets easy! (It’s ok, you can laugh. ) While I’m still waiting for that to happen I have learned some valuable lessons along the way.... Don’t be so hard on yourself.... Never stop chasing your daydreams. Dry Shampoo is a necessity. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Extensions make you feel like a total babe. (Seriously just do it!) You will never know everything - so keep learning! Get a good accountant. Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do something. Work hard and keep tunnel vision on your goals. Drink water and wear sunscreen. Find a mentor. Invest in a good hair and skin care regimen. (Trust me, totally worth it!) A bottle of wine and night with your girlfriends is sometimes the best medicine. Live life out of your comfort zone. (That’s where all the magic happens.) Life may not always be easy and I might not ever have it completely figured out but I sure am enjoying the ride! Thanks to all of you who continue to sit in my chair. For trusting me to make you look and feel your absolute BEST! For supporting me so I can do what I love every day. Doing hair has made the last 13 years has been beyond rewarding and has blessed me in so many ways. My goal for 33? Continue to find ways to better serve my team and my guests. That second session just hits a little different Balayage is not a process to take you from Brunette > Platinum from one session. It’s meant to mimic how the sun would naturally kiss your hair. Every session you build Blonde creating more and more gorgeous pops. The first session is always fun but the second session is when the real magic happens.

The power is in the paint! My favorite lightener when painting? Kevin Murphy FREESTYLE It’s a clay based lightener -Kaolin Clay to be exact. It not only has a gorgeous lift but helps strengthen and detoxify while it works. It’s super gentle on the hair! ... Why Clay Based Lightener? It hardens on the outside but keeps the treated hair wetter longer. This allows the product to penetrant and for maximum lift. It’s consistency is for a proper application! Clay LIGHTENERS allow the freedom to layer and paint freely. You can build the product to get the best pop possible. Remember : THE WHITER THE BRIGHTER !!! Now for the mixing. FOLD, don’t MIX your lightener! Whenever you mix your bleach or color it slowly starts to lose its strength. This means you might not get even lifting/depositing throughout your work. BUT if you FOLD then mix little by little as you apply you are ensuring the same lift in every section! I like to mix on the back of my hand. Whether you use a board, paddle or your hand mix until product is totally smooth . I like mine the consistency of frosting. A little thinner for coarse hair and a touch thicker for a super fine canvas! Now get to painting!
