Construction of the new Central Utilities Building at Lindbergh High School is wrapping up as the finishing touches are completed on the building envelope. At the southern leg of the new Lindbergh Schools HS addition, steel is well underway and the decking is in place.

During Women’s History Month, we are recognizing the first American woman known to have worked as a professional architect, Louise Blanchard Bethune. Bethune’s best-known design was the Hotel Lafayette, located in New York. Bethune retired in 1908 and passed in 1915 at the age of 59. In 1910, between the time she retired and the time she died, there were only 50 women working professionally as architects. Louise Blanchard Bethune was a pioneer for women in architecture today.
